My wife and I were traveling from Nepal down India to Kochi during the months of March and April. Our stay at the Zuri was nothing short of fabulous. The resort is immaculately clean and all of the staff are extremely warm, welcoming and will accommodate every need you may have. My wife had a massage in the spa from Amblini and said it was quite possibly her best massage ever. Now on to the dining experience. Chef Boban Thomas is a Masterful Chef that provided us with meals that are comparable to very high end dining experiences in larger cosmopolitan areas. The wait staff were attentive and knowledgeable we never wanted for anything. Thank you so much Nikhil, Supriya and Justin your are truly professionals at your job and we wish you the best in your future endeavors. Excellent service including houseboat service as well as buggy ride by the reception staff. Staffs attitude Ravi& Nimmi were excellent & really helpful for last 3 days. Restaurant service was excellent with complimentary breakfast & tea.

We were very impressed with our 4 days at The Zuri Kumarakom. We were surprised to be told that the property is about 25 years old, because it's superb maintenance suggested a much younger age to us. As we rode into the property, we were a bit shocked to see a lot of policemen around. And that turned into panic when they accosted our taxi cab at the hotel porch. I was looking for hotel staff to help us avoid the policemen and to whisk us into the reception. As the policemen unloaded our luggage from the taxi, we broke into laughter realizing that they were actually security staff from the Ambassador Security services! At the reception, Ms Sanu greeted us and readily accepted my request to see the other room types before we occupied the one I'd booked online via Expedia. We liked the villas the most, but it was way more expensive than what the two of could justify splurging. So we settled for an upgrade to the cottage and Ms Sanu helpfully processed the charge of the difference amount. It was an amazing experience to be in the quaint cottage right on the man made lake adjoining the mighty Vembanad Lake. At 4:30pm we went to the Lime Cafe for the complimentary high tea. There, we were offered a sunset ride on the shikara boat. It was quiet inexpensive at Rs 250 plus taxes per person. When we boarded, we realized we were the only ones on board. It was an amazing ride and Aswin was our impeccable host boatman. Our dinner was at the Lime Cafe and we ordered A La Carte as buffet wasn't available on a Thursday evening, due to low guest count. The staff were just impeccable. Sangeetha helped us order and the hospitality was amazingly diligent and warm. Not a second passed between a plate becoming empty and being whisked off; or a tumbler depleting and drinking water immediately automagically getting replenished. Coming from Bangalore, where apathy of the wait staff is commonplace, this was an unbelievably pampering experience. This exquisite attentiveness continued over breakfast, high tea, dinners on all other days as well. Indeed, hats off to the entire wait staff and kitchen staff! We were also able to benefit from Kerala Ayurveda therapy at the well appointed Maya Spa. Arun, Ambali and others were very experienced and capably attended to our muscle rejuvenation and stress relief requirements. The facilities were adequate. Internationally experienced Ayurvedic physician Dr James Alwin readily offered his assistance and we are grateful for the same. He has guppy fish in his office, which was soothing in of itself. The property has a large man-made water body which is connected to the Vembanad Lake. All the residences (about 70 keys) are around this water body. There are several water activities and climbing/rappelling etc available. We weren't interested and didn't participate. But we saw others enjoy paddle boat and zip line etc. We did sit in the cool breeze underneath trees adjoining the Body Temples, which are water side structures for meditation. It was very tranquil and soothing. We were always regaled by sights of innumerable storks and cranes. And also drongoes. And squirrels noisily chittering. Diving cormorants. And so on. The nearby Kumarakom bird sanctuary clearly had some stragglers in the Zuri. The property is impeccably maintained. We constantly saw a large contingent of staff tending to the greenery, hygiene and maintenance. There is an abundance of outdoor structures and seating and everything was clean and gleaming. We had the opportunity of personally witnessing this exacting rigor when we chanced upon the cleaning crew in our cottage one day. Ravi and Nimmi were so perfectly representing the thoroughness of the entire team at Zuri in handling every little bit of our cottage. The cottage itself was a joy. The very spacious washroom had a separate bathtub, yet another shower room and then an open shower area outdoors should one want to sun oneself whilst showering. All in complete privacy from rest of the world. The Zuri was so impeccable that it isn't possible to find fault. But I'll try my best to find some fault: - The Cigar bar was non operational. - The bar was nice with immaculate service. On the top of the standing air conditioner, there was a small room freshener electronic device which periodically emitted something. That material would fly in the air conditioner's blast and irritate our eyes. It happened every time. - The songs being played in the bar were melancholic. Upon enquiry, we learnt that "management" has provided an USB stick bearing these hearse worthy dirges. - Even I couldn't find any more lacunae. One afternoon we found a toddy shop on Google maps. We took an umbrella and walked there in less than 10 minutes. And enjoyed heavenly fresh toddy with Karimeen polichathu (pearl spot fish cooked within banana leaf). The surroundings outside the property are also very clean and serene. Very confidence inspiring for a walk. Overall we had a great time at The Zuri Kumarakom and congratulate Mr Rajagopal and management on running an outstanding hospitality operation.

Beautiful resort centred around a small lake, and connected to the main Vembanad lake. It’s a great place to watch local birds and squirrels. The bungalows are large and comfortable, with a balcony on the lake. On the amenities, the resort has 2 great restaurants, a fairly large gym, outdoor pool and spa. There’s also bikes to go around the resort (but sadly not allowed to take out). The entire staff has been really kind and helpful (Ravi, Nikki, Alan and the others).
